    What reels for new Rods???

Well the birthday fairy bought me 3 new rods on the weekend.

Got a nice shimano combo, 2-4kgs, will be a nice SP outfit. Whoops................did i say SP outfit out loud??????????????????

The other two were rods only....damn have to have a word with that birthday fairy

The 2 rods are both Penn's one 6ft and 10-15kgs, the other 7ft and 12-15kgs.

Any recommendations for reels to go on them? Plan to use them in the bay and outside.

Quite easy, just look at the first guide (from the reel):
    • Small size runner close to the reel seat = OH stick.
    • Large size runner far from the reel seat = spinning stick.

For the lighter setup overheads like the penn GT series or Shimano Charter Special have levelwinds or go a TLD 15 or up to a torium

The heavier setup might suit a TLD or Tyrnos. Daiwa also have great reels in those sort of ranges

    Happy buying
