    TLC for Fiberglass

    Hi Team - Miss me?

My boat finally arrived in Gove - after bouncing all around the counrty side from Melbourne...

The boat arrived covered in crud form bow to stern.

Greasy footmarks, embedded grime and worn gelcoat on edges where continual stepping onto/out of boat on the fibergalss has occurred from people who don't give a damn..

I have given her it's first wash for a few months but want to rub in some good fiberglass lotion to restore warn gelcoat and provide some resistance to the harsh sun up here....

Can someone provide some recommendations for a good quality fiberglass lotion i can use??

PS - the rubber strip on outside of hull has also discoloured - how to restore this strip as well?

    G'day

Do a search on the thread "Detaling, How To" by myself.

That should give you a good start.

In regards to the gunnel rubber, I high pressure clean them with quik clean, depending on the type, and then follow with he one step cleaner and wax. Note: this is all dependant on the type and condition of it.
