help with my 5hp

hi guys ive got a older 5hp suzuki i use on my tinnie, and im having a little trouble with it, the motor itself seems to go ok but when im going along occasionally it seems like it jumps out of gear, the motor revs out and the prop stops turning, all i have to do is drop the revs right off and then shes fine again for a while, now i know its not actually jumping out of gear, just not sure what the problem is , just wondering if its easily fixed or not worth it.... any advice would be appriciated

what sort of shear set up between the prop shaft and prop, maybe a sheared off shearpin that is still catching to allow drive and then slipping again.

Thats where I'd be looking aswell.

Take the prop off and have a good look at that setup.

Could be a shear pin or maybe the prop is rubber bushed and slipping ?
