Finally got my boat in the water after a 4 weeks of pure misery.
Went for a run from Donnybrook around dead low tide.
First up we ended up at Lime Pocket were Ive had success before but i was sitting in super clear water with a depth of .4m
The second place was spot A finally we got fish on board there must have been 15 just legal bream (all released). When the sun went down the mossies come out to play and so did some of the larger fish, a just legal size cod (released) and 3 good size bream. Then it went quiet for an hour or so until my rod with worm decided it wanted to go for a run after a short fight thinking it was a good size bream or moses up come one of the biggest whiting I've seen for some time. I'll take photos of it when i clean it later today.
Decided to try a spot given to me by the tackle shop i clearly wasn't there at the right time or he gave me a bum steer. All we got was shovel nose.
Last spot was a place i fish often with success on the going out tide. With only one Taylor boated we decided to call it a night.
All in all not a bad session and i can breath easy for a while as i have salt water and fish back in my blood.
From my experience up there, it's all about the times of the tides in the locations. Don't rule out busy parts of the channel when everyone goes home. The fish seem to come back well.
