Thread: Bucket of Gulp

    Re: Bucket of Gulp

A little over a buck a pop......not too different to Gen.1 gulps, but I reckon a massive improvement in looks and usability + you can stick it back in the Magic Gravy bucket and use it again another day......... they must know I'm a sucker for gravy

eeeooowwww!!! that doesn't read real good!! lets just forget about the gravy.

    Re: Bucket of Gulp

I did see these advertised in one of the monthly fishing magazines this month and was keen to purchase some for a try! Will head to Tackle Warehouse in the morning and see if they have any stock left!

I just had a look at the Berkley link - JustQ - which ones did you get?
The website shows a few different ones - eg. sandworms, pogys, squid etc.

    Cheers

    Re: Bucket of Gulp

the problem I reckon with a "bucket" of anything is you get a whole bunch of stuff you do not want and will never use, because they are a bucket of stuff for almost every place on earth, better to get what you want only?

    Re: Bucket of Gulp

Just been into the Tackle Warehouse and they seem to have quiet a few buckets.
They had the minnows (as purchased by JustQ), sandworms, swimming mullet, shrimp. I didn't see the pogy or the crabs as advertised on the website. They might still be coming.

Then was driving past BCF on the way home and dropped in to see what they had in stock, couldn't find any so asked the guy at the counter "Oh - they are due in next week - we are waiting - but we are going to be the first ones to stock it - we are getting the 1st shipment"

He was a bit miffed when I mentioned that Tackle Warehouse has got plenty on show!

JustQ and any other "Alive" purchasers - I am looking forward to a report on how they go!

    Cheers

Apparently the pogy is on its way. Popped back into The Tackle Warehouse today at lunch time and asked about different sorts and they are waiting for them to arrive although there is not a huge selection like the gulp packets. These were the only types available in the country but apparently more have arrived but awaiting distribution.

As for BCF - they have a hide to say they are the first. The above mention shop beat them to the punch everytime with standard stock items and plus have all the top end gear that you will never see at BCF.

Just another case for giving BCF a big swerve.....

    Re: Bucket of Gulp

Well back to work today after 4 days in bed with the flu and mine were sitting on my desk waiting for me.

They certainly do look the goods... but i noticed at least one i could see with a bent tail, so maybe the theory of perfect every time isn't so accurate after all. Anyway i have been checking MO for them every couple of days, and daily since the 1st of August. They only showed up on the site on Tuesday morning, which was about when i ordered them.

The shrimps will be good too, they are on all reports i've heard, alot softer and more lifelike than the current Gen 1 Gulps... might order them next and give them a go.

Wednesday will be my testing session with them.

I think the guy at BCF got a bit confused, BCF bought the whole 2nd shipload of the new gulps...moldy cheese, malibu blue etc.

I dont think BCF stocks the top end gear (although they do stock loomis) because its not their target market..and also because they cant get the stock from the suppliers.

tackle wharehouse is one of my favourite shops, plenty of different stock and great service

    Re: Bucket of Gulp

It may be the case that BCF did get the first shipment.... but BCF is much the same as Supercheap Auto (owned by the same group afterall).

What will have happened is that Pure Fishing will have done the deal with BCF, sent the stuff all on one big pallet to the central warehouse and by the time its all been unpacked and individual store orders packed and despatched it was 2 weeks later... meanwhile direct account customers with Pure Fishing would have gotten theirs quicker.
