broken reel seat: HELP
hey guys
was out spinning today (didnt get anything) but when i got home, i decided to do a good clean of my fishing gear and managed to break the reel seat. its a spinning rod and the piece that broke is the aluminium bit that screws up from the bottom to hold the reel. does anyone have any suggestions as to any possible solutions to fix this, or in the case of that failing, how difficult is it to replace the reel seat.
thanks

Re: broken reel seat: HELP
G'day Adam, Is it the hood that goes over the reel foot or the locking nut that tightens it all up that broke?

Re: broken reel seat: HELP
If it is a cheap rod, the hose clamp idea sound good! One of those nice thin stainless ones should be fine.
Cheers!

thanks
yeah its the hood that goes over the reel, i cant get a picture to upload. i have bent the bit back into shape but its a bit fragile now. i think the pipe clamp will do the job, might even try a cable tie over the broken bit
thanks again
