    Get It In The Boat!

hey all, ive got 2 reports from the weekend both times in cabbage tree creek.

On saturday took a mate out whos never been in a boat before so i decided to use small floats and bits of peeled prawn and bread to see if any big bream would come out. was fishing down near the clay cliffs in the snaggy water there, managed about40-50- little bream and half a dozen good sized snub nosed gar. we got sick of catching small bream and having to rebait becoz we couldnt keep a bait in the water for more than 30secs befoer bream had it.
then decided to try a little rocky part of the creek that i have been meaning to hit sps with. first drift useing atomic fat grubs and gulp grubs i managed a nice cod and smallish flattie both released. then my mate is on while im tending to the cod. first impression was nothing specail but when i saw it i was surprised, first fish for him on a sp was a nice lizard of about 80cm . now to the landing of this awesome fish, and let me just say it involved me yelling at him to quickly lift in in the boat as we wer only useing 6lb fluro, so first attempt, missed swings out again and bye bye althought it was released unharmed as we never touched it i still would have liked to get a pic for him on my phone but hes learnt.
only had one more rift over the patch for a big pike and then called it a day.

sunday i was keen to repeat yesterdays tactics and try the reef section butmy brother swiped the boat from me, and my bait and my rods, so once he had dropped my rods off and i had yelled and thrown stones while he made a hasty retreat to keep his distance from me for a while, i had a crakc useing the same setup as the day before but only off our jetty. now i wasnt expecting to do well but i sure did put my brother to shame in the end, after he had flogged my spot x aswell. i got 2 very nice lizards one 58 and the other borderline 68 and kept both for a feed. my younger sibling returned with the stories he had got four flathead and a cod but only kept 2 small duskies of the 30cm range. and of course i rubbed as much s h i t into him as i can, hes lucky to walk away without a fist to the face after flogging all my gear.
good weekend, cant wait till next to try it out again

high 30's low 40's sorry he rang me before i blew up at him to make sure he could keep it. sorry for the confusion, i didnt measure them myself but i know he had a ruler.

DS- down near where gas works creek meets cabbage tree, do you know where the old boat slipway used to be, right on curlew park, down from there past the bouys its goes round a bend and there are clay cliffs on one side, if you keep going round youll come to cabbage tree creek marina/slipway at the end of station road in deagon
