    Cooloothin Creek

With the Noosa River being pretty quiet this week I thought I'd checkout some new ground further upstream.
I found some nice holes which could very well hold Jacks in summer, holes that drop from 1 metre to 4 metres within 2 lengths of my boat!! All mangrove lined as well!
Anyway after a bit of effort on the receding tide I managed to get to the mouth of Cooloothin Creek. Nice bit of water the Cooloothin but I've never been to the entrance before. Some good little dropoffs and heaps of weed beds made me think this looks interesting.

After half a dozen casts with the 3'' Smelt Scales Minnow, I got whacked! A short fight later a 62cm Flattie was in the net. Nice. I landed another 4 Flathead, from 42 to 54cm which were all released. Picked up a couple of small Bream as well and nailed a GT that went 42 cm.
I was stoked with the result after 4 hours of fishing and exploring new water.
Just goes to show you gotta expand your horizons and explore!! I love it!

    Cheers Jeff.

Sounds like you may have found some good ground there for the summer months, and nice flattie also there seems to be a few getting around at the moment.
