    Re: Roller Issues

    hi poodroo,
i have been reading the posts on your roller problem. I'm glad the mob you brought the trailer from where happy to fix the problem, well replace the roller for you. I have a dunbier trailer that i brought in April and it carries a 4.1metre Quintrex tinny that was built in 1965. From the pic you posted your trailer is very similiar to mine. the only difference I can see from the pic is that I have long skids on my trailer. My rollers are black like yours, but my partner reckons they are dark blue or purple, and I am still running the original rollers that came on the trailer. I have had no problem with the rollers chopping out and my boat is loaded and unloaded a fair bit as we fish nearly every weekend, weather pending. this is my first boat. when i brought the new trailer i rang the boat yard told them what i wanted and they gave me a trailer to fit. If you want a pic let me know and i'll try and add one for you.
    cheers

Always happy to see a pic of your setup. Gee a Quinnie that is older than mine? I wonder how similar they are in design. In a way I prefer the older style tinny because firstly they were made of thicker materials and more solid and the other thing is they are a deeper V so they handle slop okay. On a down side I think they could have made the sides higher though but we can't have everything.

Well Scalem you had better believe it. I am very eager to try the new gear and go chasing a PB Snapper. Perhaps I can time it right and "follow" you out to dum again waves permitting? I want to go chasing that monster that straightened my hook. It is not getting away a second time.

    Re: Roller Issues

Conclusion to the roller issues at last. Yesterday after I finished work I was called by the company that sold me the new trailer and there was a good outcome in the end. They were not only happy to fit the new rollers free of charge but also made sure they were all adjusted to suit the boat (Apparently I had it set up pretty good the first time) but they also helped me out with the propeller as well which chewed out the bush last trip out. They originally quoted me over $100 to re-bush the prop but when I collected the boat they only charged me $85 all up. Not a bad lot of people to deal with and because they did the right thing I am only too happy to recommend them to anyone who wants to know who they are and wants good service when buying either a new boat or trailer. Very genuine people with good service and backup service also.

    Cheers,

    Poodroo
