    Fishing Frank Spencer Style....

Went out this arvo/eve...started off well ...backed the boat off the end of the ramp...crunch....over that drama...out to have a look around mud...bit of breeze and chop...looked around...then decided to go try the river...tied up ...sat for about an hour...nothing....breeze..has droped...bugger back out to mud, pulled up the pick, took off ...went about 100mt....all stop.....straight up un a sand bank....less than a foot of water...(polished the skeg)....paddled out to deeper water...back underway to mud...pick out again........pulled up a crab, tangled up all around the line, wouldnt fall off..so up onto the bait board....then it decides to put its claw through the stainless snap attached to one of my rod safty lines....took about 10 mins to sort that out......then one line went off...looked interesting....jiggled the landing net into place with one hand...get it alongside the boat....catfish.....cut the line.......next in came a small snapper...id hooked him through the eye somehow...poor little bugger cut the line down near the hook...then carefullly too the hook out.......bugger it ill go home and watch TV....back into the ramp at sandgate...(interesting side note, someone had cleaned fish and dumped them on the highwater mark...there was a rat sitting there eating a snapper frame).....get the trailer back it down...leading the boat over to put on the winch hook....you know how sometimes the boat comes in a bit fast and give you a push....well lucky i was holding onto the bowrail because it knocked me backwards...so im hanging one leg either side of the bow trying not to end up falling onto the trailer....great fun...so results were one now handycapped crab, one bilnd squire, coating of catfish slime in the net...and one rats dinner upset...!!
