    Mud last night 25/7/07

I fished North West Mud Island last night from 7.30pm to 11.00pm, without 1 decent bite. The water is very clear, but conditions otherwise were beautiful. 2 other boats out there, didn’t see them catch any thing either Spoke to a guy at the ramp on the way out, nothing. All in all a very quiet night. Can any body tell me are u more likely to get decent fish on that reef area or just off it on the drop off.

    Didley,

Mud has been a bit quiet lately especially with the very clear water and low tidal flow. Best bet is to look for some dirtier water which you often get when the tide is flowing out. Fish definitely school up better when the flow is stronger and usually in front of the reef. Noticed you are in Bardon - I'm on Simpsons Rd, drop in and say hello one day, you might recognise my boat.

    Cheers,

    Ollie

Ahhhh! Lucky the TAILOR are chewing their heads off at the moment! The Snapps are around still - you just have to work a bit harder for them ... A certain person i know has had no prob's picking up Snapps at Mud (at will too )...

OB1 – I go past your boat on Simpsons Road every week taking my son to soccer at Bardon. Nice rig. Good to know it belongs to an Ausfisher!

Hard luck mate, but i'm glad you've posted . It all helps in making the big picture. Very quiet around the western bay Islands. I'll end up with a formula one day

We were out there on Tuesday night. Very quiet. Only one fish actually hooked and brought to the boat. Lucky for me it was a 75cm snapper and on my rod .

But apart from that, I have had 2 trips in a row that we have struggled to loose a bait to anything but stripies. Very frustrating.
