80's model evinrude

Hi guys; just bought a new boat and motor. The motor has the external hydraulics. The seller told me it couldnt be repaired so I was wondering if anybody knows where I could get a secondhand one? Also would a trim and tilt off a later model motor work on my 80's motor? The other one is 98,99 model. Thanks from Mark.

Outrigger trim was typically in teh 70's on OMC engines. Some smaller engines continued with it into the 80's but the larger engines had integral trim in approx 1980.

Later model trim systems wont fit as the swivel bracket is different.

i have seen the external trim units on ebay for sale, evinrude or johno parts should do the trick, check out ebay at present am sure there is trim unit on auction for under 200 bucks fully complete, i have 84mod 90hp has integral trim

Hi Oldie. Yes I have seen a trim and tilt for a 98,99 model with the ram behind the motor but am not sure it would fit the old model fittings. Wondering whether I just sell the motor and upgrade to a newer or new motor.
