    Squire mayhem

RDO today so with the weather looking good I was going to go over moreton for a mission in the tinnie but after a phone call from a mate at work changed my mind and headed for the river. The phone call went like this.......Get down here now with your tinnie the squire are going silly!that was last night on dark so I said no can`t tonight but hope there still going in the morning I`ll pick you up on the way through!
We don`t like fishing the river as we both work there but when it`s like it was today it didn`t matter so after picking up old mate we left cabbage tree creek and headed for the river .From the time we anchored till the time we left (6.00 till 8.00am )we boated sixteen squire all around the fifty five mark one was sixty one along with some smaller models but nothing under fortyfive also some monsters that pulled hooks and snapped leaders.Don`t worry after we reached our limit we let the others go back where they came from , not like the bloke last night that put over twenty in his boat!!! anyway it would have to be the best session I`ve had with squire. I probably should have given the plastics a go but just couldn`t get away from the bucket of pillies and herring. They went off the bite about seven thirty like someone flicked a switch and with plenty of fish still showing on the sounder they just stopped eating so that was that back home across a flat bay to cleaning duties.

Good stuff Fish Gutz - glad to see someone had better luck than me. I had the boat all loaded this morning ready for a trip to the Curtain, and don't know what happened but hand brake let go and the Whitley ran backwards into the retaining wall. Be no fishing for me this week while it gets fixed - very expensive. As long as I can still afford the fuel I will be into them next week. Nice to see people sticking to the bag limits.

You're right about the ride mate. I've got the 650. Breaks my heart when the kids ding it with the sinkers so I don't know how i'd cope if it got a prang like yours. Mine's parked on a really steep drive in front of the garage with F16 chocks under the wheels. My hearts in my mouth every time I bleed the air from the brakes and she rolls back onto the chocks

    Good luck with it.

    G'day

Fantastic session there, i'm heading out friday and am definatly giving the river some thought now as the bay is too bloody clear. Maybe the snapper are under the wharves ?? lol

What section did you find them in if you don't mind me asking?

Mick, may see you out there mate, will probably be starting at green or wello.

Kev... maybe it's time for you to get an aircraft style arrestor cable and fabricate a catch under the trailer to make sure she doesn't move and inch after rolling any further!

Bad luck about the let-go mate. I can only imagine the comments that followed. I doubt any of it would make it to air! The joys of boating! Nice haul Gutz. RDO well spent.
