If its over $1000.00 AU inc postage you'll be charged GST.

J&H might help out OS buyers in that regard if you know what I mean.

Economists are tipping the AU $ to break through the 90c barrier shortly and possibly getting to be on par or better than the US $.

Boy will there be some toys bought if that happens.

I've bought several things through them and have never had a problem

I brought a raymarine through them, good to deal with. Get them sent at least a week or 2 apart and you should skip duty , just pray there no shipping holdups . Leigh

just make sure what ever you buy has a global warranty, I have seen lots of people caught with a "return to base" warranty and the Australian distributers do not want to know about it (and rightfully so I reckon) so any problems means a post back to the USA (not always, but make sure)

From what I have been told, Garmin, Raymarine and Furuno all offer international warranty currently.

    Eagle/lowrance do not.

I recently purchased two items from the U.S. and had them sent to different addresses. That way you still get them on the same day. Postage will cost a bit more, but still far cheaper than customs duty and GST.
