I dont know sh!t about fishing out of the mouth of the Johnstone or the estuaries there.
But if You have a 4-5 metre boat available early sept. then this is prime spotty(also spanish around ) time.Dont know of any prime macky spots off the Johnstone but as others have mentioned Meaburn rocks(off mourylian harbour) is Ok as well as a few K's south Olive rock and Silver Sands are sure bets for both spotties and spanish.
However this all depends on the weather and to date it has been crap.
15-20 knot winds and above have been par for the course consistently for quite a while now.
So maybe a little tinny and a bit of time cruising the estuaries would be the safe bet.
