Evinrude Command Guage
Are the fuel flow / fuel used functions accurate straight out of the box or do you have to calibrate these. Are they accurate to within less than a litre?

Fill the fuel tank and reset the 'fuel used' to zero. Run the boat. Refill the fuel tank. If you have to add 50 litres calibrate 'fuel used' to 50 litres. The computer will automatically adjust. Mine is very accurate. Last week it told me I had used 147 litres since last reset and I could only get 148 litres back into it.

So what you're saying is that the fuel flow sensor is calibrated manually through the fuel used. How does that work when it doesn't keep a record of trip hours? I have a 300l tank and don't want to fill it so I guess then I'll have to run it dry and monitor my fill from there.

Once you callibrate it is that it then or do you do it say once a year? Is it necessary to re-calibrate each time you reset the fuel used? I reset that after each trip out just too see what I use on each trip.

Once you calibrate it, the top up litres should agree with the fuel used.
