    1770 At Night

Hi all, went for a late night fish on Sunday as the wind had drooped out to about 5knts. Went east for about an hour anchored up and got into some good snapper up to 6kg one good sweet lip 5.5kg and a good cobia 14.5kg. Lots of small stuff with them and some big slatey upto 10kg put all them back but a good nights trip.

    Nice catch there, congratulations.

One quick question. Did you have the moon or not?

    The reason for the question.

I often fish out off 1770 after dark, and unless the moon is up I have a bugga of a time seeing my way back into the inlet.

I've heard the harbour master at Gladstone is not in favour of putting lights on the first two channel markers to discourage people using the entrance after dark. IMO that's a brain dead attitude.

Not much fun getting your deckie to hang out the side of the boat with a dolphin torch trying to pick up the reflectors on the first marker, particularly if I am coming in on the back tide. Sorry to go off the topic of your post but it just made me think.

    cheers roz.
