Re: Raymarine S1000 To Lowrance Gps

I fitted one for a mate and he took me out recently to try it and I was impressed. Perfect for trolling all day.

I'm in the process of ordering one now for my boat. I found them for $1375 each if I buy two of them - if anyone wants to get one now PM me soon and I'll order 2 and save a few hundred.

    Cheers

    Garry,

Since fitting mine I have also fitted a Garmin GPS4008 and now have the auto pilot linked to that. So far so good, but I only use it for heading directly to a waypoint. I haven't tried it following a track or trolling yet. Very accurate at doing that though, and I find it useful on long runs.

    Regards,
    Dave.

Re: Raymarine S1000 To Lowrance Gps

Weve had the S1000 on our last 2 boats, both connected to Raymarine chartplottersm C120 & E120 on current boat. We mainly troll for Marlin & Tuna and wouldnt have a boat without a AP now. The S1000 work very well and we only take anua controll when fighting a fish or when entering port. When set up to Raymarine Chartplotter you can simply drag cursor to where you want to go hit goto cursor button and then the "track auopilot" soft button all from the screen. Trolling pattrns are excelllent and only available on much more expensive units from other manufacturers. Best money add on weve ever added to our boats.

    1. Buyers of Raymarine products should ensure they are confident in the future of Raymarine service and support and do some research first.

Has anybody used the raymarine Smart Pilot X5? I am thinking of putting 2 Lowrance HDS5's, Lowrance DSC VHF, Raymarine Smart Pilot X5 and a new Honda BF60 and want to connect all on a nmea2000 network.

I have herd that Raymarine have come good and are going to continue to trade.

I have fitted the s1000 and put 30 hours on it in some prety ordinary conditions. bl@@dy good bit of gear for the price, steers a course way better than I can
At some stages less than 2m off track .

I thought it may have trouble in a following sea but it exceeded my expectations.

Anyone on the Goldy wanting to check it out send me a PM
