I am just curious if any one else out there with 5"Lowrance sounder or GPS have had any success getting answers and or action from Lowrance.

Why I ask is because I came across a few threads here a short time before mine started playing up and needless to say I wasn't thrilled with what I was reading. I also wasn't too happy while I thought I only had 12 months warranty and on the 15th month my gear started playing up(BUGGER).

I thought they still might be worth a call at the time and gave em a bell to find out I actually had 24 months warranty and how can we help you(You Beauty). This is the interesting bit. I was told within 2 minutes of getting through to them that both my units would be replaced due to an issue with the keypads on "ALL 5" UNITS.

I wonder if they were going to put their hand up if the problem happened outside of the warranty period Any way I finished up with an X515CDF upgraded from an X 107 and a Global Map 5200 traded up from a GM 3500. I am guessing this isn't a bad result so I am going quietly.

Thought it might be of use to somebody to have this information should they be having issues with this machine. A couple of points; firstly the 60OHM terminator has been ditched for a 120 and all new fittings are screwed, not bayonet; secondly one symptom was rapid flicking between the low,medium and highlight screen display(screen still legible but you wouldn't want to an epileptic) and thirdly the GPS module not found sign kept popping up(ok if you are where you wanted to be but where I fish it was game over if you were not)

Let me know if you( whoever you are), do any good from this. I also would like to add that it only took a few weeks to go down and that I dealt directly with Lowrance not the dealer.
