    Boat Over at Noosa

Was over on North Noosa today at the mouth and there was a boat upside down - and stuck on the sandbank just in from the mouth. Two rescue boats tried for ages to get it ashore. Couldn't budge it. They then tied off to two fourbys on the beach. Still couldn't budge it. Nuther go with the boat - busted the rope. Sent 6 burly blokes to lift it. Nup. Rescue boats went off and came back with a new rope. All the previous efforts had been to drag it. This time they tied across the middle and tried to flip it. Nup. Ended up leaving it there. Be interesting to know what the finally did. Probably needed a crane in the end.

Sounds like its been sucked in by the wet sand. Kinda creates a vacuum and can be hard to move them

Gday Peter, how did the car go? I would say you didn't have to put it into H4 unless you managed to find some reeally soft sand. Did you get a chance to throw a line?

    Cheers,

The boat looked about 5M. Could only see the hull. I see on the Sunny Coast news last night that the Coastguard happened on them by chance while doing another job. Lucky buggers methinks.

Mike - Car went just beaut. Bitta soft stuff here and there but yes - could have been 2WD for most of it. Although there was a Subaru bogged at the exit we cam out on. I put a quick report up in Saltwater.
