I was post a similar sentiment barry. Camping at North Straddy we'd go down at dawn for a quick flick and bring back maybe a dozen or so. Bleed, fillet then cook on the plate straight over the fire. Bit of butter, lemon, mixed herbs and chilli!!! My mouth is watering now!!!

Dart over crab bait (Tailor) any day. I've crumbed and frozen them and they keep just fine. Have a mate who used to bla bla bla about vermin (dart) and his beloved tailor, guess what he's turned, after all that verbose knowledge turned out he'd never even tried one!
I love to eat dart cooked whole...the entire fillet can be lifted away from the main skeleton(like eating flounder) i find the flesh to be quite sweet if prepared well and fresh...
You Queenslaners are spoilt rotten... In Melbourne we used to catch and eat Australian Salmon and Mullet. Too many Summer Whiting , Snapper and Reef fish will spoil your appetite and make you fussy... Dart ..yummmy....
great jewie bait live or fresh caught my pb on live dart not bad to eat but for me a fresh tailor fillet anyday
