What the title says????
If a bloke had $2500-3000 to spend on a sounder what would be the best make and model in this price range.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

i just brought one from bcf talked them down to 1290 with the tranducer inclued it is an awesome sounder.shows fish up really good even when im doing 60k's an hour.
Ibought mine from northside marine with tranny for $1200 but maybe worthwhile sending ausfish member piscatorial pursuit a pm he has an online store in the states called Fish on marine and electronics i think i was looking on his site and it seemed to work out a little cheaper than here send him a p.m mate and see how you go i know furuno recognize u.s purchases here as far as warranty goes ..
A bad days fishing has got to be better than any day at work......
Thanks guys
Can anyone give me some tips on high end sounders.
I,have posted this for a mate , His sounder died yesterday, not a very old unit either.
As har as high end sounders go you can buy them up to all sorts of levels i am fairly sure 3-4 kw units are available grand marlin would probably have those answers here appears to install top level equipment but as far as i know depending on space a fcv 585 furuno is probably top level in the rec fishing market it has more pixels than the 620 and is a true 1kw unit i beleive....

a 1kw ducer would be more than enuf for most rec fishos, the 585 Furuno, if it's anything near the 620 performance wise, will be prime equipment to have.
for $3000 u should b able to have get with trany fitted & installed.
You can pick up a FCV 620 for around $900 delivered from scuba steves and similar prices from other US dealers.

gidday gelsic really all any recreational fisherman neads is the 600 kw transducer unless they fish the shelfs. i have the furuno 585 with the 600 kw trannie picks up the bottem in 400 feet of water with out a problem was going to get the 1 kw but i dont think there is any need too. just my opinion.
cheers tassie JR
Should be able to get the FCV620 for $1,128 in Australia with the 50/200khz 600W triducerand I have been looking at a FCV585 with a 1kw transom mount transducer which should cost me $2,468 in Australia or if I chose to go OS about $1,800 with a bit of transport on top of that.
