i use my digital camera
do have mobile phone as well but the resolution is not too good
and to transfer the pics from the digital camera is much easier
Ditto what chubby has already said.
You can some really good quality high Mega Pixel Digital cameras real cheap these days. They do give really top quality pics over the Mobile phones
I use a digital camera, although m last one got a dunking in the salt water, just ordered a Pentax Optio W30 which is waterproof.

Yep - definately a digital camera - better pictures and easier to download then a mobile.
we take our digi but if i forget it i use my mobile. it takes about 2 mins longer to put the pic off the phone to the computer. digi takes a little bit better photo then the phone because it is 5 mega pixel and the phone is only 2 megapixel. but if i really want a good picture i just wait to i get home and take the photo with the digital camera.
cheers tassie JR
You wont be unhappy with your new Pentax Dan_A,
My Optio WP is about 2yrs old & has been a great thing, great pics & really easy to use.
My boat tends to get a little wet sometimes ( no cab ) so a waterproof model was a must.
Muzz
definately get a waterproof model.
I have the olympus drop-proof waterproof model, you know, the one the dog chews on. Excellent camera
have at look at australian online electronics stores, I saved over $200 off RRP. Just make sure it comes with an Australian warranty.
cheers guys, looking for something really small.....
seems the optio w30 is a popular model..
ashh any sites u can recommend..PM if u need
For sure digital camera is much better but my nokia is 2 megapixel cam and i use bluetooth to transfer to pc the nokia software is user friendly cheers
All I did was went on e-bay and did a search for the camera, quite a few online electronics stores on e-bay to choose from.
Just be sure to do your research ie; read there feedback and ask (e-mail them) all the usual questions, where are they based (country), what sort of plug comes with the charger (is it australian), what kind of warranty and will it be covered for repaires in australia etc etc.
Some people dont like ebay but I have not had any problems as would have millions more I would imagine.
As I said, just do your research and ask the questions and you will save a lot of money.

Hows it going guys
I got an Olympus camera ( shockproof waterproof )the same one ashh is talking about ,its 7.1 mega pixels
i bought it online at a site called buyquick.com.au its an online shop based out or Perth and i received the camera the next day
The price was really cheap as well

I bought a cheap camera just for the boat. Im not taking my good camera out on the water. You can get good cheapys on ebay for around $90. Keep in mind, you dont need large megapixels unless you are gonna blow up the photo to A4 size or bigger. A 3-4mg job will do fine for webshots.
Phones are too slow to download to the pc, and flash is poor.
regards
Andrew
A six Mpixel digital camera is pretty cheap these days. I have had some pix from my 6MPixel Canon digital camera published in the fishing mags but the pix from my 2MPixel camera are not good enough.
we have a pretty flash one....its a canon 400d,always have the strap over my head!
