Hi Guys,
I have just put a Fiber Glass canopy on my Dual cab Triton, and I have a dual battery setup with the second battery in the back.
Do you think it is necessary for me to change the battery from a wet cell battery to an AGM Battery that is safer in an enclosed area?
The Canopy is not air tight as it does let a bit of dust in, I am not too sure how much gas a single 120AH wet cell battery puts out.
Any opinions would be appreciated.

Definately change to an AGM. They can be discharged further (although neither should be discharded further than 50%) and can be re-charged better and quicker.

I will upgrade to an AGM soon, but in the mean time I was wondering if it was safe to keep the Lead Acid for now or not.

As long as it's properly secured there is no problem ie the risk from spillage is a far greater problem. All VE commodores have the battery in the boot and would have less ventilation than your triton.
Gas is only produced during charging and the volume is miniscule compared to the volume of the Triton tray. To cause an explosion you would need an ignition source at the vent during heavy charging.
Be aware ,AGM batteries also produce gas. Their main advantage is their robustness/ spill resistance.
