Giant Jew Brissy River

have to be short with this as my browser keeps shutting for some reaseon after a few mins and this is the third time of trying to post this.

hodgie called me tues morning in a flap as he had just landed his biggest jew and in the brissy river on plastic on a pinpoint 2-4kg rod with an affinity3000 loaded with 15lb braid and same leader. he needed a photographer fast so i flew over and snapped a few shots and some video for him(for bris 31)
it went over 1.4meters(yes 1400mm) and bottomed his bogas out at 60lb(only weighed after it would not swim off after the 45min fight)
these are pretty small pics but i think nuggett will have it on his report on ten news friday night at 5.55pm as i sent over one of the high res shots.

Pitty too see such a great fish not make it, but I spose, a fish like that is 1 in a lifetime, and after a fight like that it was probably a goner anyway. Wish it lived, but WHAT A FISH!

quite the contrary, I think the Brissi river is underestimated. People thought it was dead, so no one fished it, meaning it didnt get over fished. Not only that, but no one wants to eat anything out of it, so its all catch and release.

Great fish fellas, nothing better then landing one of those beauties that'll test the equipment and operator out.
Great time of year for them also, being in the right place at the right time and offering something that they'll take a fancy to your always in with a good chance.
By the way what stage of the tide was it , that looks like pinkemba ramp in the pic and water hight suggest somewhere towards the bottom.
