Sure was. I don't know if they feed on Tailor but yes it was in amongst them. I had a few massive runs the other night fishing with fresh Tailor fillets for Jew. I didn't get any Jew but I did hook and lose 3 good fish. I had a feeling they may have been 4kg+ Tailor but am now thinking they may have been Queenies. One of them ran enough line off my Alvey for me to think I was going to be spooled. It took at least 300m in no time flat. I managed to turn the fish but lost it due to slack line on a "pump and wind". I'm gonna hit them up again tonight and see what happens.

BTW, the Tailor copped a fair hiding from the pros during the week. 25 crates doesn't leave many fish in a school.

We did hook and land/release 2 rays and 1 shark towards the end of the tide. The runs I had were different to these. The best runs we had were around the top of the tide. The vermin type fish showed around the bottom half of the tide.

Any thoughts on this? I am keen to know what it is I am hooking up to but missing.

I meant to post earlier with the weights. Queenie went 8.975. Tailor 2.55. Tarwhine 1.15. We tried to let the Queenie go but it kept turning belly up.

It sounds like a longtail Tuna to peel 300m in a blink , I could be wrong.
thats a shame about the pros netting the tailor , they really don't give them a chance to recover , I can remember wagging school about 17 years ago and fishinh the norethern end of Bribie and getting a tailor a cast for a couple of days and then nothing because the pros came through and netted somthing like 3 ton of fish... heartbreaking
gees the tailor fishing used to be good
