after what seems like three weeks of straight eastuary fishing, finally a window of opportunity arose to go wide of bundy in search of some table fish. I spent 3 days getting the old mans boat back into order as he has neglected it since starting up racing karts at the tender age of 60.
Anyways, the plan was to fish the wreck althea, however when we arived some 25 nm from burnett heads the conditions were less than favourable with the tide goin one way and the wind and swell the other. I managed to pull a small bludger trevally off the wreck with a 40g raider slug and 9/0 circle hook (fowl hooked) but due to our anchoring woes and our limited time we chose to head towards 15 mile.
Once there we set up anchor, near the top of the tide and put our baits down. First tap and a nice tuskie comes aboard, then second drop a nice grassie sweetlip. I managed a further two fish both a smaller grassie and parrot, before the bite went off. We motored further north to where the old man had caught large grassie sweetlip before, and second drop the second larger of the two grassies come aboard. In all I caught all of the fish with poor old boy catching a trigger fish, grinner (of all things) and some whiptail bait fish.
