Thread: New Boat

    Re: New Boat

    "The Tuna" or "Tuna"
    seeing it's already a bluefin
Or "Pilly" as it's a little bluefin and I suppose a little bluefin would look like a pilly...maybe??
Or "John West" as it's a bluefin in a tinny (play on words)
Oh the mind hurts...too much thinking

    Boatie,
Yeah it rides well, i live at Redcliffe, so the majority of my fishing is in the bay, like all small open tinnies if it is rough you will get wet, i have been out 10-15km offshore ( in very good conditions of corse) and it was no probs. I am sure you will be very happy with ya new rig.

    Re: New Boat

    looks like Little Bluey then.
Or Lil' Blue or Red as it's an Aussie boat and we call people with red hair blue so the opposite???
Or Baby Blue or BB or Bubba Blue or just Bubba
Or spinner as in come in spinner but you'd have to keep shining her up for that
Tis shiney at the moment though isn't it??

    Re: New Boat

    hey craz,
the floors and all the other wood work is made out of 12mm structual ply with stringers under the floor to stop it bending and flexing. it now has 2 coats of white undercoat on all surfaces and is ready to be painted a blue colour and then the floor carpeted.

    hey finga,
Little Bluey sounds pritty good. yeah she is still a bit shiny but not for to much longer!

    Re: New Boat

    hey craz,
the sounder isnt conected yet. its just sitting there i was seeing how it witt look. i thing i will get a piece of polyurathane (hope i spelt it right) of my mate and stickaflex it to the transom. on the old boat i stickaflexed a piece of marine ply to the transom and screwed the transducer to that. the marine ply is fine but i reckon the poly will be better. the sticaflex is very strong and doesnt look like moving. i will make the poly long enough so i can get a bit of adjustment if i need it and mount my bait tank pump to the other end of the polly. hope this helps.

P.S i just ran the wire over the top of the transom and i will do so again.

    Boatie.

    Re: New Boat

Thanks Boatie. Ive been hearing that transducer placement is a big thing. IE: not to have it in line with a planing strake. have u heard this? If so where will you be mounting yours? Closer into the motor or further out?

    Cheers
