It had been close to a month since I've had the boat out due work and weather so with a few days off I headed down to familiar territory at the 'Pin for a SP session. I was under strict instructions to bring home dinner so the pressure was on.
Headed out towards the bar with a couple of hours or so til top of the tide and promptly found a big bait school and just followed them aroung casting to the edges. The action was hot and was one of the most consistent bream sessions I've had using 3" Gulp minnows and Squidgy wrigglers. It was pretty much a hit most casts and I landed over a dozen with them all a nice size around 28-32cm. Sometimes three or four would follow out of the fallen snags to fight over my SP, it was good fun.
With the tide starting to slow a little I decided to throw something a little larger (5" Jerk Shad) thinking some nice flatties or perhaps a schoolie might be hiding underneath in the deeper water. Didn't find those guys but did find some nice trevors around the 35-40cm which are always a blast on the bream gear. Also had a couple of bite offs so I think there might have been a couple of choppers having some fun as well. Even saw some bream still shadowing the larger Jerk Shads which shows how aggressive they were! Once the tide turned it was pretty quiet so I went chasing flatties and managed to nail a couple but nothing to write home about.
All up it was a top day to blow off the cobwebs even though I busted the prop on my bow mount...... but thats another story.
