went for a flick with sps down river heads near hervey bay on saterday and found a nice mackie. Probably had 10 follows but the buggers werent hooking up or were spooking easily but i finally nabbed this little broady. 3in watermelon powerbait with 2g, no.1 jighead on 12lb leader, 8lb main and the new Daiwa TD sol

Nice work mick, I've lost so many sps to those buggers. Carl ended up using 40lb leader with a 3" plastic to stop the biteoffs. You did well to hook him and land him on 12lb trace. Were you using a fast retrieve?

Thanks joel, nah it was on a slowish mid water retrieve, they wouldnt touch anything that was movin quick, the water was really cold, mayb 16 deg. I was watchin em roll on the placcie over and over but not hookn up, water was crystal clear
