Hi Seabug, interesting link.
Regarding the recent procession of low pressure systems marching down the East coast, I recall a similar occurance in 1998.
My wife and I had just started our lawn mowing business, and the rainfall through the winter months gave us an excellent spring growth, and the moisture stored in the ground produced good storm rainfall in November and December.
Interestingly, the next 3 or 4 years were incredibly hot and extremely dry.
This winter the production line of southbound lows is very similar. As I write there is one off the Qld border, one off the Victorian border and a good chance IMO another will form off Qld in the next couple of days.
Interesting weather, thats for sure!
As to the causes, seems there are a lot of different opinions, mine would be related to warm sea surface temps at the moment.
However the salmon are arriving on the MNC NSW so cooler water wont be far away!
