    Mud Sunday morning.

Went out ot Mud on Sunday morning, despite what the weather man said about the wind. Anyway got out there and the weather man was completely wrong, the ride out and back was bumpy but certainly not the worst I've travelled in.

Fished Point Yankee for about 2 hours and just before sunrise the Squire starting biting. Caught 4 good Squire out of about 10 that we hooked up on(well good for me anyway) , 46cm, 44cm 40cm, 39cm the other 6 went back to fight another day. As soon as the sun was up, they were gone - it was like they were never there.

We were using pillies and SPs, not a single bite on SPs but they loved the pillies. I've read alot of reports about SPs, I'm only about 40% converted at the moment, I guess when I start catching them on SPs my conversion rate will increase. Until then I'll always have bait where ever I go.

The hardest part about fishing soft plastics is catching your first fish and then repeating it... But mostly having confidence in them and yourself... After that they work pretty damn well. Its also good because it gets rid of the pickers, and the bigger fish just grab it and take off. Its a great feeling only taking your rod and a little soft plastics bag out with you. I sometimes fish right next to the bait boys and see them catching more fish than me. But they also catch alot of junk and small fish that i dont get. Drifting with plastics you cover more ground (until you find the fish) and it more silent and also elimantes some of the weather as your going with the wind and wind swell. But i still fish baits at night time... so....
