Hi All I Am Just Starting To Plan Our Yearly Trip Away We Had Hervey Bay In Mind Can Anyone Tell Me The Best Place To Go Only Been To Qld Once Last Feb Lake Awonga Not To Bad But Trolling Bores Me Only Have A 435 Hornet Trop So Will Be Will Not Be Off Shore What Is Best Time Of Year Or If Not Hervey Bay Were In Qld For A Week Any Help Would Be Great.
G/day gazza im from herveybay and at the moment there are a few snapper on the arty there are alot of spots you will get to with your boat the straits are fishing well for bream at the moment some nice reefies on the local reefs you can get to wathumba creek area lots reef and palagics to be had as for the best time of year it depends on what you want to catch i'v only lived in the bay 18 months but have fished this area for 30 years and not very often i have come home empty handed.....BOB
mate i go 2 or 3 times a year. I stay at Happy Wanderer Village. Excellent facility, nice owners, great family spot and reasonably priced.

hIghly recommenr Hervey BAy for anyone. we go at xmas, easter and some times in between during the year if we can get away.

a massive playground for fishing, especially with boats your size, they get around the whole western side of fraser, and catch a large varity of fish. I have lived here 7 years and say its one of the best places to fish in qld!!
