late reports - sat + sun shorncliffe
after getting the new rod i wanted to test it out a bit so hit the creek mouth at about 330pm, not much there so ventured around to the jetty, no wind at all around there, flicked hb and sps around before trying to jig for some yellowtail for fun, instead i kept getting moses perch at around the 20cm mark, bit of a surprise but the rain and light got the beter of the day so i callled it quits. sunday arvo had nothing going so decided to go round to my grandparents jetty in cabbage tree for a boys arvo sitting back, wind dropped off on high tide as night was falling. this was all before the tragic departure of some of our gear. first off i was fishing with with 3 other mates and the first to loose some thing lost his half pack of smokes due to the wind getting the better of him, then it was my turn in a weird twist of fate another mate had caught a nice big pontoon about 20m away, me with my back turned was thinking what a kn*b head when back i get a long shank in the back of my heal and i see my full pack of smokes fly into the water care of one fast moving, precise sinker....of all the places it could have gone it hit them...but the fun didnt stop there while trying to get over the lost my only other mate who had not contributed anything to the afternoon sheninigans decides to throw a can a me, well i threw it back at his head mind you and with the attempt to be neo and dodge it gracefully he moved his head to fast and gone! his $150 sunnies that he lives in went for a swim. that pretty much sumed up the afternoon with no fish caught only bust ups. we wer glad to get home to say the least by the way theres no way i was taking the blame for the sunnies going in either, tried not to laugh but it capped the day off nicely

Didn't you know that smoking and drinking is bad for you??
At least you had a few laughs! Fish may be there next time.

What a great read and a laugh. That's what fishing is all about - mates, beers, smokes and laughs.....the hook in the foot I can do without though
Cheers,

i was lucky it only hit the tough skin on my foot, sort of like how you can put a needle thru the top layer of skin with out any pain, thats what it was like, barley even felt it!
