    Hey Warren

Mate I have fished the swains at different times of the year and for most of the species July will be fine. During this time of the year the spanish mackeral are in peak season so if your after some line burning action on spanish macs July is a great time to visit the swains. I think the main factor is the weather when going to the swains if the weather is crappy the fishing is generally a little bit tough still good but you just have to work harder. I find the best time to go would be september/october as this is when i have had most success but we were blessed with fantastic conditions on both occassions.

Thanks For the reply, We are a group of mostly fisrt timers, and I was a bit worried that it may have been a well known fact that you just dont go in july. If you have any other fishing tips on fishing Swains I would be keen to hear them and pass them on to the other boys . Thanks Warren
