Thumbs up Handy info on outboard trim etc.

Just trolling around looking for some stuff and I found a PDF which has HEAPS of info covering the following subjects:

    • What is the "trim angle" of the engine? (Page 4)
    • How does trim angle affect steering torque? (Page 5)
    • What is power trim? (Page 6)
    • Why do I need a tachometer and speedometer? (Page 6)
    • How do elevation and climate affect performance? (Page 7)
    • How does weight distribution affect boat performance? (Page 8)
    • What is "Blowout?" (Page 9)
    • Why Blowout Occurs (Page 9)
    • How To Correct Blowout (Page 10)
    • How should I maintain and service my propeller? (Page 10)
    • What is marine fouling? (Page 10)
    • What are some common signs that it may be time for a new propeller? (Page11)
    • What is Pitch? (Page 11)
    • How do I know what pitch is right for me? (Page 11)
    • Stainless Steel vs. Aluminum? (Page11)
    • Three- vs. Four-blades? (Page11)

Good read there mate. Never even thought about altitude having an effect on HP. All boaties should read those pages when first getting into boating.

    Cheers Chris
