Best 3-4HP outboard ?

Got the two old mercs still in the shed not using them no more can have the both of them for $100ono

Sound like a good deal mate, but my main concern is the weight of them and are they working at that price mate they are giveaways. Any idea on how much they weigh, working/not working and how old, 2 or 4 stroke...... and where you located ?

Thanks for the info, the Tohatsu's are only 13 kg and 3.5HP but $840 is a fair bit of coin for a small motor.

From memory the merc's were around the same dollars you are talking for the Tohatsu's same weight, I think that they may be made the same. Johnson are the same mariner are the same...

The 3.3 hp merc had sand in the impellor and when droping the leg off one of the bolts broke off, had it removed and and now ready for new impellor kit to be put in. 2.5hp is in one peice still and still was being used until I got three new yamaha's better motor alround but dearer to buy new. Both of the merc's are 2005 models. I have done alot of work with both of these but still have plenty of power in them for a single piston. condition of both motors I would say would be fair to good.
