Your top bait for the following....

Just interested to find out what you would use if only one bait was allowed for each of the following species.

Flathead
Bream
Whiting
Trevally
Jew

[Noelm]

Worms or Prawns

I would suggest that all of these species are not always best targeted with baits. Try the following in my opinion.

Plastics
Squid/shelled Prawns
Gulp worms
Slugs/Plastics
Big Livies

Im a big fan of the smell of stink in the water and dont think you can beat it but the adrenaline rush on lures is pretty sweet.

FlatHead- Live Herrings
Bream- these barsteds take most things... yabbies, prawns, worms or soldier crabs work well
Whiting- Yabbies and worms
Trevally- haven't fished for much.. used spinners before.. nice by catch wen fishing for tailor of the rocks
Jew- Live Mullet for the biggens

frshly dug worms for whitting and bream, but bream also love small live prawns or bread/dough. flathead also love small live whitting!

live worms for whiting, mullet gut and flesh for bream and mullet flesh for flatty goes all right to.

Prawns........................ good all round bait for them, especially if nice and fresh or even live prawns

Flatties - live poddy mullet, bream - mullet gut, whiting - live beachworms, trevelly - mullet chunks, mulloway - large fresh whole squid.

hermit crabs?? are you talking about the one in the cone shell or soldier crabs found on banks.

Flathead: Soft plastics yabbies live bait

Bream: mullet gut live bait chicken gut

Whiting: worms yabbies

Trevor: never targeted them but have caught them on mullet flesh

Jew: still to catch one

Honky Dory the ones in the shell , bust open the shell with a hammer get a few along golden beach if u know where to look good bait
