    Excellent stuff...................

If nothing takes a peeled prawn then that is usually a sign that nothing is about and iiy's time to pack up and move on. Good to see a great bag of fish. My best ever Grunter was a 52cm specimen............can't wait to beat that. Your 62cm Grunter must have been great to catch and great on the plate

    well done

    Goes to show,

If they're not biting doesn't mean they're not there - will definitely file that away on the hard drive. Peeled prawn in most cases is just a pain in the @rse - get shredded by pickers within milliseconds of hitting the bottom.

Hmm, yes the time has come for a trip to Coco.....

Now, if this rain would just let up for a day or 2...

Good onya Scott, great report. Any pics?

Grunter is a very underated fish for the plate. Give me Grunter before most other estuary fish any day. Scott you do of course realise that you have used up all your luck for a while...............waiting for your next outing,s report he!he!

Mate, did u check wat the tide was doing when the fish came on?
It seems to me that it might've been a tide change that triggered the fish or something in the water maybe?
    Sounds like a good trip

Well done Scott, your rght that grunter are under rated table fish they are also noce with orange and lime and corrianda stuffed in the gut.

My biggest one is 58cm but have been talking with a lad who caught one that almost went 75cm..

Good to see fish being caught.

    Rod...

P.S. Looking to go out to the bomber on saturday.

My piscatorial friends reckon that's typical of grunter, ie last of the run in.

    Taipan,

By boat unless its a family outing.

I pretty much don't care about the weather as long as its early enough so the S'Er hasn't sprung up too much. Coming home, its just a matter of 'surfing' the chop/swell in.

A bumpy half-hour ride up to the creek is better by far than a flippin' hour long drive in the fourby and a muddy, slippery 'boat ramp' at the end.

    Cheaper too.

    Nice session scott.

I am yet to target some grunter since moving here. With the weather looking bad for the macks might turn my attention back to the creeks and target a few salmon and grunter. With all the rain we have had I am sure the muddies will be on the chew as well.

    will try this weekend.

    Cheers
