    Re: S / S or Alloy Prop

Think one has an exhaust ring/flare, I am too poor to test such lovely boat bit's, would be great to hear how they stack up against each other, never seen the new ultra thin alloy props in the flesh.

    cheers fnq

no, motor comes standed with a S/S prop, Merc was not happy with the WOT rpms, 5750
so we just change the props till we are all happy,. these props are up grades from the standred S/S prop i will have to give one back, the Enertia X7 is 4 times more durable and 30 % stronger than conventional S/S

Sounds like alloy is progressing , how do they make it thinner and stronger ???

    not sure,

    ENERTIA

Designed for both outboard- and sterndrive-powered boats, the Enertia is cast from Mercury’s X7 Alloy. According to Mercury engineers, it’s four times more durable and 30 percent stronger than conventional stainless steel. The stronger metal allows for a prop with thinner blades and higher rake angles, which increases speed and fuel efficiency during acceleration and at top speeds. Mercury says that using this prop can be equivalent to adding an additional 30 hp. Enertia is available in 1-inch pitch increments from 14 to 22 inches in standard rotation. And, counter-rotation models are available in 15-, 17-, 19- and 21-inch pitches to fit many twin- and triple-engine boats.

Saurian, I dunno what it is made of, daz's post is about the limit of my knowledge on them, considering the price of good props and mercury makes VERY good prop's it could contain titanium for all I know

    cheers fnq

Hi Garry, im not to sure on the outright price on this prop, when i brought the Verado it comes standard with a Vengeance ( POS ) so i upgraded to the Laser ll for an extra $50, then i upgraded again to this one, again for an extra $50
what i like about the Enertia is they step up in 1" increments

if your looking for propping your new boat, ( not long now ) it would also pay looking at the Tempest plus props,
i have read good reviews on this prop also

    cheers
