Lowrance LXC25c v's LCX27c

Hi,
I am looking at gfetting a new GPS/Sonar combo. I am keen on the lowrance LCX 25/27c models. I am having troubles tracking down a lcx 27c but can get a lcx 25c. Can anyone tell me the difference between the 2?

Best place to start would be www.lowrance.com as they have both manuals and
emulators that you could download and review each model side by side.
Having a quick look at both unit specs are very similiar,have heard new ones are very hard to source as you are finding out....Good Luck

There is virtually no difference between the 2 units other than the LCX-25 is discontinued and the LCX-27 is the replacement model. Good luck on the LCX-27. I am a dealer here in the states and we have had them on order for 4 months now with no eta on when they might show. I don't know what is going on with Lowrance but this is the worst year I have ever seen for availability of their product.

Do yourself a favor and go with Furuno, Garmin or Raymarine. Just my opinion.

I dont know to much about the new lowrance units but i have been reading lots of negative reports about their products moisture problems and just generally letting people down i personally use a furuno fcv620 great unit i beleive the best stand alone colour unit on the market at the moment maybe a furuno combo unit would serve you well if you must have a combo i would beleive them to be a good machine and if its a money issue you could get it from the states cheaper i beleive and not lose the warranty here in australia others will have more info on this ...

Bluefin 59 is right. Lowrance has had, and continues to have some issues. As a Lowrance dealer here in the states I am very concerned because I have not been able to get a consistent supply of their products since December of last year. Each year product availablility gets worse and worse from Lowrance.

I can't speak to service issues on this years product but we dealt with alot of service issues right out of the box with Lowrance last year. Combine that with their inability to provide their dealers with product and Lowrance has some problems.

You could probably buy a Furuno FCV-620 with a Garmin plotter in the states for less than it would cost you to buy a LCX-27 here in the states and you will be getting a far better product, not to mention that you would be getting alot more screen size. I always find it best to go with separate units if you have enough room on you helm.

I Love the Lowrance displays but their quality leaves a lot to be desired. Two years ago I bought an LCX 104. This unit died after 3 months and was subsequently replaced 4 times because the units continued to fail. The last time it failed I had to wait for over 4 months and they couldn't supply a unit or an upgrade to the LCX 110. Finally Wynnum Marine stepped in and replaced the unit with a Furuno Nav-Net 2. An outstanding unit from and outstanding dealer.

Now one of my mates has been waiting for a replacement unit for over 4 weeks. His unit was two months old.
