Giday death ship
Mate the reason they dont go with a certified operator is there are decreasing numbers of operators who will charter to this style of diving( technical) due to the ever increasing RABID behavior of WPHS. I dont blame the operators they do there best but wphs need to find someone to blame for an incident is rediculous.
Technicial diving is by it's very nature dangerous and the incident the other is one of many things that can go wrong on a dive, but the people that do this style of diving are highly trained and try to minimize accidents as much as possible, but are fully aware of the risks. There are probably only 20 diver in qld that could do that dive and they would be very well trained but when you cant surface for a hour if you miss the shot line you can be 2nm for the boat you dived from, but if the skipper is on his game he knows you'llbe down current somewhere and will have deployed a 2+meter high beacon. Far from ideal i know but it does work, on big dives in the open ocean that require long deco many divers carry epirbs in a water proof canister.
