G'day all,
last night myself along with two buddies Kris (Fritzy), and Dave, had a hastily arranged overnighter on the Broadwater. The weather was fantastic with hardly a breath of wind, although it was pretty chilly. I managed to get my first tailor in quite a while with the first cast of the night. Although it was only a chopper I was pretty pumped as it was my first tailor on a popper.
Despite our best efforts, with a variety of spots and baits tried, we didn't catch large numbers of fish, although the last place we fished held quite a few decent bream, of which 4 or 5 were boated and subsequently released. In all, for 8 hours of fishing from 10pm to 4am we managed 7 different species: bream, moses perch, tailor, whiting, squire, stingray and an eel.
Cheers,
nice looking fish you guys got there where on the broadwater did ya fish northen end or down near sundle must of been cold out there or did ya have a bottle of stones with ya!!!
I was out there sunday nite too, for a similar result. I thought there might have been more fish after the rain. I was off wavebreak nth wall, then fished the pipe near the sth wall tower. No keepers, just throwbacks.
Hi Spook76.....we fished near wavebreak, in the seaway, and in the northern broadwater.
Andrew, we started off the night fishing the wavebreak north wall....we were probably anchored up right near you!! We put a bit of berley in the water but could only manage a whiting, small squire and stingray there. The bream and choppers were from the broadwater near seaworld.
Cheers, simmo
