Fantastic report Rhys. It was a pleasure finally meeting you properly (and not stopping you mid-troll at the banks)

Greg said the same as you - even though we all ended up with some good fish and a decent feed, generally the pace was a lot slower than last year. Being my first time to the comp I found the fishing to be exceptional but that's coz I don't have any previous year's experience to compare to as well as the fact that Greg and Terry work ultra hard to find good fish even when things are quiet (or should I say especially when things are quiet). I can't imagine what i must be like when it is really firing and Greg is at the helm

Here's a pic of us steallin' stuff from your boat on the beach

Aha...so you guys were the culprits, I had my furuno 585, furuno radar and furuno very expensive type best there is gps, 5 Penn International 50w 2 speeds, and thousands of dollars worth of terminal gear, plastics, and at least 7 Blue Rose rods and saltiga 20000's nicked! At least I know where to come and get them back now! Caught in the act!!!

It was great to meet you Rob and look forward to a trip in your cruisey when the weather gets warmer...in the meantime, could I interest you in a trip???

    Cheers

    Rhys

    Hey Rhys,

Great report mate. The repower sounds like it's sorted out all the probs that the black anchor had, especially the fuel econ.
    Thanks for the read.

    Regards,
    Craig.

You certainly have the gift of writing a report Rhys! And your not to bad at landing those jobbies, all you need now is to learn the art of landing large morwong like me
Im not sure if you can remember the state of origin night, but you did have a good time, so did swano until half time.
Thanks for including me in the flamin riptide crew and i'll catch up with you soon ...foxy

Please mate if that was a drag we would have kept her full throttle the whole way we were just backing off to get some footage ourself's. If you give me your address i will send you a dvd with the footage i got of you guys . I was the one on the camera in the back of "Outlaw" . You know the camera man that didn't nearly get bucked out of the back of our boat when we ducked across the back of your wake not like your camera man that nearly got bucked out when you crossed ours.

If i ever work out you tube i will put up the footage your boat looked great apart from the fact that the motor was that trimmed up 45 degress .

So for the record Flamin Riptide is a very tidy bit of kit and looks great in the water but it wouldn't blow wind up "Outlaw" if John decided to use the extra 500 rev's each honda had up it's sleave and he decided to use the trim.

Anyway how good was that morning and how good was next year see you there this time in a bigger haines with twin 225 hondas so it will just be a no contest

    Cheers
    Benny J

Thanks for the report mate. Always a good read, well worth the effort!! Not a bad trip for our first, if it's half the trip next year it'll still be a blinder. Looking forward to catching up soon.

On behalf of the Olives & Cheese brigade thanks to you's all for a great trip. Special thanks to shano for organising the house etc!! Looking forward to the next one!!

    Hey Benny j,

Yep it was a hoot of a morning that day, how flat was that sea! When Foxy squeezed John into Waddy to goad him on we were chuffed that John didn't leave us disappointed. When we saw Outlaw respond and trim out the motors and hit it...she sure skipped away on us, so Foxy up with the skirts and into it. Sure, he trimmed the motor right out to peg Outlaw back, first time we'd given the big girl her head and it was pretty impressive from where we were.

Yep I was on the camera in our boat and likewise nearly got flicked out when we recrossed your wake. PM me your address and I'll send you what we've got

In the final analysis...it was big boys playing with big toys and we laughed all the way as you did...the bigger haines with 2x225s would certainly present a challenge next year...we'd still give it a go!!!! Might need to prop Flamin Riptide up and thin her down a bit to give give John a run but it would be fun!!!

Thanks for the good humour...nobody takes these things too serious do they???

Yeah AB, we laughed with the "Olives & cheese" thingy...and you had a Flamin Riptide traitor on board with JB..."bangers and mash" out!!!

    cheers

    Rhys

He sure does - but also how's the look on Foxy's face when he realises he's just been busted for showing us where all the really good gear is stowed..

Warmer months are definitely better for a trip in the side console, but a trip in the flamin riptide in the mean time sounds great.

G'day AB, a top trip mate and it was a pleasure to spend the week with you blokes. Thanks again for the deep fried red mate - that was the best piece of fish I've ever eaten (no exageration either).

    How's JB's thumb coming along?
