385 explorer members
Hi fellow fishers,
I,m just wondering how many out there run quintrex 385 explorers and how you rate them. Also what type of areas you use them in. I've had mine for 2+1/2 years and i'm quite happy with her. I fish the stocked dams and tidal area around Tin Can Bay.

Re: 385 explorer members
Hey Bush Budah i had one new in 99 with a 40 on it i caught alot of fish out of that boat and wish i still owned it sometimes. They would be better if they had 3mm bottom sides to handle a bit more chop but yeah good little boat very stable for their size the newer ones look better with the rounded bow section also.Dan.

Re: 385 explorer members
Hi Dan, thanks for the reply. Yes she was a bit light in a chop especially one up with tiller steer. I fixed that by adding a bit of weight by way of a rear casting platform, false floor, central esky that doubles as a live tank , side pockets and of course full carpeting. This has made her a lot more stable in the chop and a lot quieter. It looks like a bass boat with more freeboard. If ever I can work out how to put pictures from my digital on this site I shall. She is used mainly in the Tin Can, Noosa rivers and the stocked dams. Easy to launch and retreive, And how tinny can you get when you register your boat and they give you your own initials. The wife calls it THE OTHER WOMAN. might paint that on the side.
