What I Dont Like About Ausfish.

I'm with you. I'd like to see the happy pants too. I take plenty of happy pills but they don't seem to be to effective. My kid reckons I'm still a grumpy old fellow...unless I take her fishing.

I agree, in fact I have had one doodle send me a handful of PMs trying to ram his opinion further down my throat after a post.. Simple message is this, we are all intelligent individuals, if you have an opinion, that is fine, I have mine, thats also fine, just don't go to the 4 corners of the globe trying to convince me your opinion is more correct than mine !! You dont make a lot of friends being a moderator and neither is that the intent of the job but we do it for the better of Ausfish. It doesnt matter who you are, what background you come from, whose mate you are or if you are a new member or a platinum member, all are subject to the same rules.

If you feel agrieved by what someone has said to you then click on the report post button that looks like this on the particular post and report it and it will be dealt with appropriately.

If you are subject to threatening or harrassing emails or personal messages from a member then message any of the moderators or Ausfish and that to will be dealt with.

We are all here to share information and have a great time.

Sometimes there is a very fine line between having a go and pushing it just that little bit over the edge and someone feels insulted!

A new member who does not yet know a few of the "characters" around here, might not take what is written the same way some of the longer term members would!

I always read over what I have written a few times before I hit the post reply button! It normally keeps me out of trouble!

I've been talked down to and it doesn't feel good, especially if you're a new fisher and seem a bit ignorant but I've read some interesting comebacks (with smilies), that have had me rolling on the floor with laughter. I guess if you're going to roast someone add a smilie but if you're going to to have a dig at someone just for the sake of a dig ... give it a miss.

I agree new members by all means may need guidense .But we are in Aus!!! and you should be able to handle a good sh#tstiring if you say something that might read a tad silly to someone who has a warped sense of humor then lookout!.

one of the reasons I love this forum is the laid back feeling, on a Reptile forum I go on, everyone starts arguments for the slightest reason and wont hesitate to calling people retards if they have a question that isn't absolutley important

I have to agree i have no hesitation asking a question here because i know most of the time i will get an answer without being made to feel like an idiot .As always there will be one or two bad eggs but on a whole i am very appreciative of the advice i have received and it has enhanced my fishing experience

It all comes down to skin thickness. What one person finds insulting another doesnt find offensive. I didnt see the post that the originator was referring to but an open forum is just that an open forum. Most members I would hope are quite smart enough to sort the chaff from the hay and work out who are the wankers and who are helpful.

Thanks for the comments the reason I put up the post was that a member called a new member ,who didnt know his way around the chatboards, a d*ck head for putting the post in the wrong area. I felt that that was uncalled for and out of place after all we are here to help each other not to put someone down.
If you notice where I started this thread off it also was in the wrong place. Thanks mod for fixing it.

Hey we all make mistakes it is just some would much prefer to point others out to draw attention away from themselves or they just don't have any manners. No need for it I say.

I had someone have a go at me and I just ignored his comments, but I had to wonder if he even bothered to read anything else that was said and was he just looking to insult someone or pick an argument. Think it was the last one.

yeh the orginal post talked about does sound wrong but this is a forum website and it happens, almost the same as life, death happens. i believe some people dont realise how someone may take it when thye type something, its not said with expression so manny can take it differntly
