have heard alot of good things about tru turn hooks.
I generally use either Gamakatsu Octopus Circle or Mustag Big Guns.
Which is better for general deep water off shore work?

Check you Pm
I wouldn't use anything else for bait fishing big or small.
True turns are good for ganging with swivels. If i use them offshore i use 6/0. These days i tend to snood hooks together.eg gammies, preditors, musto.

I think it would be pretty hard to find a "bad" hook, just get what suits your style of fishing and what you feel confident in using and your done.
Hey Big Kev,
I tend to agree with my southern buddy Noelm......I have used every style of hook and caught fish on all styles.....I think all hooks have their place as long as they are sharp and strong.....I am extremely particular about matching the hook size and profile to the size of the bait...too many expect hook style to catch fish where bait size and presentation is for more important...
Thats my 2 bobs worth anyway.....
