Don't be so lazy and go fish it and find out.
As they say you can't catch anything unless you have a line in the water.
yep..............
Haven't caught any big jew there, but I've caught some nice snapper and estuary cod there jigging prawnstars.
You want proof. Go catch one, Dont beleive, dont try
iv never fished there but stayed at a motal on the way home from gold coast and seen someone with an ok fish i dont know if its a jew but it was utleast 1m long was to far away to see but yer i would go give it ago one arvy
How ya living?
ahhh me secret spot has been discovered ehhh??????
jewies aren't uncommon around the home turf,,,, as per the norm though,,, when there about
and i've posted this same response a million times,,, you would be surprised what actually comes into the passage,,, pelagics of all descriptions,,, table fish,,and even the old jewie
for proof,,, call into blueys pub on the surfside,,, pic on the wall says it all
choppa
can it get any better??????????????,,,,,,,,,,,,,,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgG_TxEPaQE
I saw a bloke land a half decent spaniard under the bridge.Dunno about jew but expect it to be entirely feasible.Give it a chop mate.Ben
Jew, cobia, snapper, parrot, cod among other things and as choppa said have a look on the walls of blueys pub...there there ...and other places up the passage
to them smart A@@'s haaaaaa haaaaaaa. haha yeah i have tryed around the bridge pylons and so forth. stayed out all night and didnt catch much. i just heard a bloke in at bribie sports saying that he was getting blown away by big jewies he hasnt yet caught one so they could be anything. hes fishing 100 pound braid so yeah. probably just some big sting rays. thanks any way guys. cheerys
So your'e not going to bother fishing that bridge then!?
I personally am not the the type of person to sit back and watch other people succeed at something and then jump in and do it.
I'm gonna jump in there and have a go.
I hear a lot of people say that there isn't any decent fish left on the Gold Coast to catch. That doesn't stop me from fishing. Like they say, 10% oe people catch 90% of the fish. I'd like to think I'm amongst that 10%
i find it quite amusing that you post a query and then have this to say,,,,, i too can vouch that the old secret spot in the ningi creek use to ""guarentee"" a fish,,, and most if not all of my tagging was done there,,,,, i haven't pulled a fish outta this spot in months now so i've looked further afield for a new spot,,,, and yeh,,, i haven't pulled much outta the pylons either,,,, BUT plenty have
if you've been to bribie sports,,, why didn't you ask these guys,,,, they've weighed in their fair share of jewies over the years,,,,along with ningi nigels shop on bribie rd,,,
what i can vouch for is that in the past 15 odd years that i've lived and fished bribie i haven't been bored with reports on catches,,, and i can also add theres not too many locals who fish with 100lb braid
this pic by the way was the first of its kind that i've seen,,,not only caught,,, and it was only a week or so back,,,,, if you had of asked do you catch em around bribie a month ago,,, i wold have responded,,, Never Seen Em,,,,,
but there there
can it get any better??????????????,,,,,,,,,,,,,,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgG_TxEPaQE
You think? Maybe not. Could be a Big Jew. Could be a big anything.hes fishing 100 pound braid so yeah. probably just some big sting rays
I'd rather get busted off after half an hour of trying to catch a fish than not get any hit whatsoever.
To me fishing is about the sport and the Adrenalin rush when the ratchet screams and you grab the rod and feel some beast on the end pulling like all hell. ahhhhh nothing like it.
Last January I was fishing Mackay with 80lb braid and hooked up on a huge ray. It was just a long slow hard pull. Not a sudden run like a fish. Gave my arms a good work out though. Got a nice Queenie in the same spot also.
I also fished another spot up river about 4 times in a row and got nothing. Didn't even see a fish.
It would be easy for me to say that there are no fish in that particular spot. On the 5th trip I caught my first Mangrove Jack and within half an hour caught my first Barra. Persistence is the key.
Funny thing is, some locals have fished the same river for years and never seen a croc. My first trip there I managed to spot a small croc on a rock out in the middle of the river. So they are there. Though I haven't one since.
It just shows that different people will say different things but the best thing to do is just do it (yourself) I never listen to stories.Only one person I can rely on in this world, and that is myself.
What I have said are just stories too. I'd rather be out fishing myself than just talking about catching fish.
I have another story, recently I was out Prawning and there were these guys throwing a cast net for Prawns. I asked them if they were having any luck. They said no but the night before they caught over 2 and a half kilos in an hour further down river. Now you have to ask yourself this question, why were they in this spot now if they got 2 and a half kilos the night before in a different spot.
Check out some of the Prawns I caught, http://www.ausfish.com.au/vforum/sho...t=91316&page=2
Some Beasties there. My personal record is 8.5" near logan.
You forget the hours spent fishing but you never forget the fish caught.
If fish were always easy to catch they'd call it catching not fishing.
