    Wello/Green Yesterday (Rough & Cold)

Sorry for the late report but i was so tired yesterday and last night

We headed out with brent (Aquarius) yesterday for a sp session,1st stop was at the huybers beacon where we ran a few drifts that produced a few throwback squire,We then headed to a spot that brent wanted to try but with no luck there we decided to head back towards wello in some shallow water 2-3 metres which is also a favourite spot of mine so ill call it spot X ,After a bit of a drift there amanda hooked up and was using her little muscles to wind in her 1st legal squire at 45cm..Which is also my PB so theres a bit of tension in our house at the moment ,After amandas fish brent made the call to try around green which was a big mistake as we got out there the swell and chop was huge and made it very hard to fish,We flicked there for a while for some undersize squire and a small grass sweetie but amanda was feeling a bit green so we decided to head back towards the huybers beacon,We ran several drifts and brents spare rod with a plastic drifting out the back buckled over and he wound in a nice pan size 38cm squire,We had a few more drifts but it was very rough out there so brent made the call to head back in around 10:30,Brent and i were happy to see amanda get onto probably her best fish since she's been fishing.I would also like to thank brent for lending me his spray jacket as i got very wet at the back of the boat and it was freezing out there.

Anyway here a couple of pic's

    cheers tim

    Hi Tim,

Good going in rough conditions, it probably was not very crowded at that stage was it? That makes for a better chance to get onto some good fish, but in the end I've been out there in similar conditions and said "this is crazy!!"

    Congrats Amanda on a PB!

Good report Tim, Next trip we will target the fish around the new moon and hopefully calmer conditions.
Seabreeze was a bit wrong with Saturdays forecast predictions but i guess its not possible to get it right 100% of the time.
I Hope Amanda has changed from Green back to pink.
We aimed to get her a pb and she did very well to snare that 45cm squire.
So now who's going to better that next trip..lol
    Cheers Brent

only thing worse than feeling green...is when you add your own burley..

Scalem- I was quite suprised how many boats where still out there fishing in the bad conditions,There were plenty of mad buggers in little tinnies out there

Aquarius- Ill have to put a 1lb leader on for her next time so she cant better her PB

juju- She didnt release any burley so that was good

Good to see you didn't leave a bit of wind spoil your trip. Amanda nice stuff soon you will hold the record for biggest snapper. Wello was very quiet on Sunday morning too we just got to keep at it but I beleive the night times are fishing better than mornings at the moment.
It's all part of the fishing experience
