    winter silver

first of all I have to thank creek vermin for the inspiration with winter here and close to the full moon I was starting to get itchy for a jewie and creek vermins post yesterday was all I needed to pack the boat and head for the river.I was on the water at about 6:30 last night and headed up river too cast net some bait. I had no trouble getting some large bananas but I really wanted some big mullet after about an hour and a half I had filled the livie tank with about 25 prawns ,some gar,a cuttlefish and 2 big mullet so we headed off and anchored on my favorite jewie spot nothing really happened until the tide stopped and started to turn then the rod with the mullet on started to look a bit nervous sure enough line started peeling off ,10 mins later we had a jewie in the boat at about 10kg it was no monster but a nice way to open the winter account.

I don't know S/BASHER but 10kg would be 'monster' enough for me! Actually my wife has been on my back about another Threadie as she really liked the one i got last year so perhaps i need to get up the Brissie again and try my luck for a jewie/threadie....
